£745 Raised for Act4Africa!!!
On Sunday, April 1st, the truly lovely audience from the equally lovely little Crack Comedy Club in Kingston upon Thames, managed to gather together the fantastically generous sum of £745 to add to our sponsorship goal while having a really great evening at the same time.Performing on the night on a superbly strong bill were Craig Campbell, Rex Boyd, Dave Fulton and the fantastic resident compere of the gig, Barry Castagnola. Barry did consider joining the team of comedians to climb the three peaks, but in the end decided not to be one of the insane comedians who are attempting this feat. But don’t think that Barry has taken the easy way out. Barry actually topped Dave Fulton’s encore performance by soliciting funds from the audience to complete his own personal challenge on the night - performing his famous worm dance wearing while wearing nothing but his jockey shorts.
Thanks to Barry’s efforts an extra £150 was raised in donations by the audience on top of the tickets sold on the night. And then the true hero of the night award goes to Richard, the landlord at the Crack Comedy Club who agreed to match any after-show donations with an equal contribution and thus gave another £150 of his own to bring the night’s total to £745. Richard you are a star. We can’t thank you enough for your help and generosity.
Anyone who finds themselves in the Kingston area should definitely try to visit the Crack Comedy Club for a good night of comedy.
