Comedians "Peaked" with Fabulous Results at The Store

We were thrilled to see so many of you join in with the fun at The Comedy Store this week. Our first "official" No Laughing Matter" Comedy night saw 5 headline acts take to the stage to raise money for Act4Africa. Dave Spikey was of course our "Mr TV" know to just about everyone, but, not to be beaten, our 3 support acts (ably steered but the fabulous Mr Martin Bigpig) all put in star performances. All of the comedians who performed this week (except Mr Spikey who was complaining about his ingrown toenail!) will also be climbing the Three Peaks for Act4Africa this summer.

It really felt like it was the audiences night, as everyone there really got into the spirit of the evening.

"I've been at work for a week now and had nothing but positive feedback from my peers & colleagues about the 'first' Comedy Store (Manchester) gig. Everyone had comments and questions like "when's the next one?" "can I book tickets now?" "I thought my bladder was going to explode" "did that guy REALLY climb a mountain with a bowling ball?" and "who is Dave Spikey, again?"

"I didn't even want to come, my girlfriend dragged me here, but I've had the best night for years. I've spent £500 on the auction and I don't even care. Fantastic."
...were the words of another reveller. "When is the next one?" Has been the most often asked question which has popped up on my email. Well, you have little time to wait, and all of the confirmed gigs will be listed below in just a minute, but first a quick question.

Drop us a line if you want to be on our comedy event emailing list!

We were intending to put together a "No Laughing Matter" database of email addresses of people who were interested in supporting our comedy nights (hence the, "put your business card in the bucket and win a bottle of champagne competition". Sadly, all the cards were binned by the cleaners before we could pick them up, so if you took friends on the night or know of people who would like to join us at our fabulous comedy nights please forward this email to them and ask them to drop me a line by return, asking to be put on our comedy event database.

We raised nearly £6000 on the night and are so excited that this will give nearly 6000 young Africans hope for a future without Aids.  Congratulations one and all for helping us to raise such a magnificent sum.
