Loads of "Laughing Matter" at Jester's Sell Out Comedy Night!

It was previewed as "The Comedy Night of the Week" in The Guardian Gig Guide and with good reason.  Craig Campbell pulled together the line up to beat all line ups for a fantastic night of fun and frolics at Jesters Comedy Club in Bristol on June 6th. The gig was the first "No Laughing Matter" event in aid of Aids education charity Act4Africa to be staged in Bristol.

Craig performed (in every sense of the word!) alongside fellow comedian and "3 Peaker" Rex Boyd and top acts Sean Meo, Jon Richardson and Simon Bligh whilst Mark Olver manfully held the evening together (no small challenge there according to the crowd!)  The acts were on top form performing to a sell out audience who threw themselves body and soul into supporting Act4Africa on the night, one generous bidder even paying £35 for a BBC mug during the auction of bits of memorabilia that Mark had managed to liberate from the radio station!

Said Act4Africa's Lesley-Ann Newman,

"It was an absolutely fabulous night. Such a lovely audience and all of the comedy boys were on the best of forms.  On behalf of the people of Africa who will benefit from this event, I'd really like to thank Craig, Sarah and Dave from Jesters and all the bar staff who even donated their wages for the night to Act4Africa. We raised over £2000 on the night and are really looking forward to coming back to Jesters in the Autumn for "No Laughing Matter" Mk II.  It costs only £1 per person for us to deliver our comprehensive HIV and Aids Prevention Programme in Africa. The money raised will give over 2000 young Africans hope for a future without Aids."
